A hero's welcome awaited Junior MX star (and KR columist) Courtney Duncan when she, step-dad Noddy Turner and sponsor/mentor Jeremy McKnight touched down at Auckland International Airport on their way home from the Ponca City MX Nationals in the US today.

Courtney was one of the real stars of the annual Ponca City Nationals meeting, winning the girls' class pretty much unchallenged and carding a third and a fourth in the all-in 85cc classes she raced in on her Yamaha YZ85.

There to greet her at the airport was TV3 News's Dobbo plus KR's Ross MacKay, internet media man Alan Henderson and a small group of friends and well-wishers.

We'll have a full run-down of how Courtney's event panned out in the next KR.

In the meantime here she is standing in front of the special banner made for the occasion by CSC's Cannon Smith.
