The Taupo Motorcycle Club will host the final round of the BackFlips New Zealand Supercross Champs on the Addiction SX Track January 14th.

International stars Josh Coppins and Cody Cooper will head a strong field of New Zealand riders as they compete for their respective New Zealand championship honour at Taupo.

As well as the NZ titles the event will also see competition for the North Island Championship. The Taupo event follows closely behind rounds one in Timaru January 4th and round two Nelson January 8th.

The Addiction Supercross track is a new facility located in the world famous Digger McEwen Track off Miro st in Taupo just 5mins from the town centre.

Top local riders to look out for are Brad Groombridge and Nick Saunders competing in the supercross open class and Cam Dillon in the supercross lites class. The local riders have been practicing hard at the Addiction SX track and are looking forward to the final at Taupo.

The championship classes comprises of four classes being divided by capacity ratings. The two senior classes are Supercross lites, Supercross open and the two Junior classes being Junior 250 and Junior lites.

Spectator gates open at 11:00 am with action set to start at 12 noon with practices, qualifying and North Island Championships. This will be followed by half time entertainment with the NZ finals beginning at 4 pm to 7 pm.
