A new era which will see the Husqvarna and Husaberg brands re-united has been signalled by the new owner of the Husqvarna brand, Pierer Industries AG.

In a press statement today the company says 'and after careful analysis and evaluation of all aspects, it was decided to reunite what came out of shared roots 25 years ago. In other words, Husqvarna will enter a positive new era by combining its own rich heritage with Husaberg's state-of-the-art technology.'

As part of the 'reunification' under the direction of KTM boss Stefan Pierer work on a 'new generation' of Husqvarna models is already in progress with an official unveiling - in Sweden no less - in October this year and an official launch at the EICMA show in Milan in November.

In the new range will be  Enduro, Motocross and Sportminicycle models plus a surprise - says Pierer - for Supermoto fans.

As part of the moves to reinvigorate both the Husqvarna and Husaberg companies, a new group company - Husqvarna Sportmotorcyle GmbH - based in Mattighofen, Austria, will produce and sell  the new model range to the Husqvarna network of dealers and distributors.

Parts supply and customer service for all Husqvarna models up to and including Model Year 2013 is guaranteed though that side of the business will remain at the current business location in Biandronno (VA), Italy.
