THE MUCH anticipated Royal Enfield Continental GT has arrived in London.  And it's not as if the Indian factory in Chennai sent over just one example either.  There's a whole container load of them about to hit the road, as this photo shows.

Kiwi buyers will have to wait a little longer, and the first shipment will go to those who have already got a deposit down.  If you want one, contact the New Zealand importer, Trevor Clark, right away.  Details are:

Royal Enfield New Zealand, Albany, Auckland.

Telephone: 09 415 8453
Mobile: 021 334 999
Fax: 09 415 8454

Earlier in the year, Michael Esdaile wrote a bit about the new bikes.  You can check that out here.

Note the handlebars are above the top fork yoke and there is a cowl around the rear of the seat.  At this stage we are not sure - and the Indians aren't telling - whether in fact there are two models.  The Continental GT (above) and the Cafe Racer, with lower 'bars and no seat cowling.

In the meantime, for the factory's story about the genesis of this modern cafe racer: click here
