FORMER enduro ace, cross-country rider, dairy farmer, wheat-driller and Aussie outback adventurer Robbie Cricket has come up with another pearler of an event.

It will be in early January and will start in Blenheim and over four days will wend its way down to Queenstown.

Organised by High Country Trail NZ in association with NZ Adventures, 'South' will be suitable for any dirt road capable adventure-type motorcycle with or without a pillion passenger.

This is not a contest to see who can roost the most stones or lay the longest dust trail.  It's designed as a scenic tour of the back-country in the company of like-minded riders.

There will be overnight stops in Hanmer Springs, Fairlie abd Alexandra.

Robbie will lead the ride and there will be a limited number of participants offering the very best of the South Islands iconic adventure riding.

There are two packages: a basic one in which participants take care of their own food and lodging, but still get their gear carried in the High Country Trail transport and then there's the 'Ultimate' package which sees all meals and accommodation taken care of.
