HYOSUNG New Zealand says the single cylinder GD250N, also known as the X4 (EXIV), may hit local showrooms before Christmas, and retail for around $6000.    The new 250 is a completely new design (take a look!) and features a DOHC four-valve water-cooled single cylinder engine in a minimalistic chassis.

As Hyosung New Zealand's Ken Dobson says, "it has been a while since we had an all new model.  The X4 is all-new ground for Hyosung with 98 per cent new parts on this exciting new 250 single street bike.  A fresh design with a high torque engine which sets a new bench mark for this class of engine.  Power and torque figures are impressive with 28.4 hp at 8500 rpm and 26.1 Nm at 7000 rpm channelled through a six-speed gearbox.  Yes more than enough to cross any intersection ahead of most other commuters."

The new single scales in well under the weight of the long-running GT250, which will continue in production.

The new bike was revealed at the Milan Show and a few days later, it won its first race, the ST250 class at the Korean Road Race Championships - by a staggering 14 seconds.
