Anyone interested in motorcycle touring will doubtless be interested to read about Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson's adventures in China over the past year.

The duo rode two-up on a CFMOTO 650-TR, covering some 33,357.15 kilometres and touching every province (all 33 of them!) in China. They set off on July 19 and completed their trip on December 16, 2013.

Buck and Amy with their Guiness Book of World Records certificate for the longest journey by motorcycle in a single country.

Buck is an American who first visited China in 2006 traveling with some friends and immediately fell in love with the country, returning frequently including a semester studying at Tsinghua University in 2009. He finally moved to Beijing after graduating from the University of Toronto in 2010. He has a passion for adventure and travel, completing numerous long distance motorcycling and hiking trips around the U.S., Canada, and China - including a circumnavigation of the U.S. (13,840 km) and a hike along the Appalachian Trail (3500 km).

Amy is a half Chinese and trained as an architect in Oxford, England.

In 2008 she went back to China to reconnect with her Chinese heritage after growing up in the UK and Switzerland. She works as an in-house foreign architectural consultant for a Chinese property development company and runs one of the only websites dedicated to building restoration in China -

They detailed their journey with regular posts, which can be read on their website:
