Three-time World SuperSport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu is back in action at Sepang in Malaysia just five days after the death of his four-month old son Hamza.
Sofuoğlu's wife Julia Looman gave birth to the couple's baby Hamza in Holland on March 14.  Hamza suffered a brain hemorrhage in Alanya on May 2 and was since being treated in a private hospital in İstanbul.
The baby, who was being treated in an intensive care unit, died last Sunday.
Sofuoğlu announced the death of his son alongside a picture of Hamza on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
He wrote: “With deep regret and sadness, we inform [you] that Hamza Sofuoğlu is no longer with us.  He lost his long battle to cerebral hemorrhage and passed away in hospital today.  His funeral will be at Akyazı [Sofuoğlu's hometown]."
The announcement also included a verse of the Quran, which stated: “To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return."

Following the funeral, Sofuoglu tweated: I'm very grateful to family friends fans and people who are always prayed and thought about us during these hard days."
Sofuoglu, riding for the Kawasaki Puccetti Racing team on a ZX-6R, currently leads this year's WSS series by 20 as he tries to tie up his fourth world crown.
