In a special deal, Truck Festival Event Director/Promoter Robert Cochrane has negotiated to have coverage of the motorcycle races on both days recorded for future inclusion in magazine format show on SKY Chanel 83.

"Its the first step to getting local motorcycle racing to a new audience," says Cochrane.

"The ANZAC Cup is a one off annual event that has the potential to add more Australian competitors next year," he says.

The Truck Festival includes the final round of the NZ Super Truck Racing Championships with Rob Waters from Perth in his Kenworth (that can do 12 second standing quarters) keen to take home the ANZAC Cup.

Other race classes include Muscle Cars, Classics, BMW & European, Pre '65 and an Allcomers class that includes the Taxi Race team based out of Hawkes Bay.

This nine car race team of 'Super 6' Holden & Ford racers will race on the Sunday, the cars all hard working Taxis in their earlier lives.

A field of 20 Super Motard bikes and 20 Formula 3 machines are expected  to battle for their ANZAC Cups over the two days.

Cochrane says: "Someone asked me, 'Why Formula 3 and Super Motards'.   "The answer is simple - they deliver great racing and are visually different machines, thats what the crowds and sponsors want to see - they want to be entertained."

Seventeen-year-old New Zealand Superlite Champion Jacob Stroud will be up against some pretty quick guys in F3 - there is going to be some great racing.
